Bio:
My name is Asley, and I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas A&M University – Central Texas. I have experience supporting adults, families, children, and teens, navigating challenges such as housing instability, depression, trauma, anxiety, substance use, and other behavioral challenges. My approach typically combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person Centered Therapy, focusing on helping clients understand their power while creating a safe space for self discovery and healing. Ultimately, I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs to ensure they feel valued through their journey. I’m passionate about helping others rediscover their strength, embrace their growth, and feel seen and understood. Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, staying active, and watching my favorite television shows.
Throughout my journey I’ve had the privilege of volunteering in a variety of settings including shelters and hospice care. I’ve worked with children, adults, and couples. During my clinical experience I’ve worked with individuals who were facing anxiety, depression, major depression disorder, substance use disorder, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and individuals who have experienced domestic violence. In my Therapeutic work, I primarily draw from Narrative Therapy. I truly and genuinely believe we are all authors of our life stories and you can think of me as a co-author who will help you navigate the challenges you’ve faced through the chapters of your life. Outside the therapy room, you can usually find me outdoors hiking, painting, reading, experimenting with new recipes, or spending quality time with the people I love.
